Samsung Galaxy S3 - Specifications. Lucky number. Preview of Samsung Galaxy S3 When Samsung s3 came out

Today we are reviewing the Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300. This is not just a phone, but a super-sophisticated one. This smartphone is a descendant of two galaxies, dressed in a glossy look. Samsung Galaxy S3 The i9300 is a gadget doomed to success. How is it different from the standard Samsung S3?

As for the appearance, this multifunctional smartphone is unlikely to turn heads at a conventional device for making calls. Despite its size, the phone does not feel heavy in the hand.

There are a lot of rumors and jokes about its design. It seems that due to its huge size, it simply won’t be possible to operate with one hand, but in the situation with the GT i9300, this statement is absolutely false. It’s easy and simple to use even with a lady’s pen, let alone a man.

The body of the device is made of plastic, although the company initially promised ceramics. The device looks very unusual in appearance, but it is still slippery plastic, which tends to jump out of your hand during operation. Corrugated surfaces are more practical in this regard. But if you purchase an additional case, this will not only save the C3 from scratches, but will also prevent it from slipping out. Although, regarding scratches, it is worth saying that even without an additional case, the gadget will not be scratched in your pocket.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-i9300 has a removable back cover, which should be removed very carefully. The reason lies in the fact that it has a large number of latches, and plus plastic is plastic. Although you can replace the cover yourself, even without visiting a service center. Its prices are extremely low.

Under the cover you will find a slot for Micro-sim, but to be honest, there is enough space for a standard one. It is unclear what the company was guided by in this case. And also under the cover there is a slot for a MicroSD card, which will further expand the gadget’s memory.

Despite the material and its flexibility, the assembly of the device is excellent, as befits a device from an A-company. There are no backlashes, gaps, nothing moves or twitches. Available in two colors: white and dark blue.

There are several indicators on the front. The left one, for example, will blink if a call is missed or an email has arrived. It's also worth mentioning that the S3 GT-i9300 has an interesting feature. If the owner missed a call or SMS, then when he picks up the phone, it, in turn, will begin to vibrate.

In addition to the notification indicator, there is also a light indicator, which, depending on the amount of light in the room, sets the brightness of the screen for eye comfort and additional charge conservation. However, some users complain that it does it too smoothly.

The right indicator recognizes a face in front of the screen, which is poorly implemented. For example, if the owner is wearing regular glasses, the smartphone does not want to unlock, which creates problems.

At the bottom of the front part there is a familiar mechanical button in the center, with which you can return to the main menu or unlock the smartphone. For the latter case, there is also a special “Mode” button, which is located on the right side. Next to the mechanical button there are touch-sensitive “fountain” buttons for returning and returning to the context menu.

On the back of the device there is an 8 MP camera, LED flash and a very powerful external speaker.

The S3 GT-i9300 is sold in a beautiful blue box, which in addition to the phone itself also contains:

  • MicroUSB cable;
  • socket adapter;
  • instructions, inserts and warranty card;
  • white headphones with a set of three different ear pads - larger, smaller and elliptical.

Screen

The characteristics of the C3 screen are as follows: diagonal - 4.8 inches; resolution - 1280 by 720 pixels. Super Amolled display, which is based on an active matrix of organic light-emitting diodes. These screens have a lot of different advantages. The most important of them is a full viewing angle in all directions while maintaining color, brightness and contrast.

Second generation Gorilla Glass will protect the screen from scratches and abrasions, but will not always protect it from cracks and bruises.

The flickering frequency of the picture is 60 Hz. The display supports multi-touch up to 10 simultaneous touches. Grain is not noticeable either when viewing pictures or when reading text.

Processor and operating system

The device has a quad-core Exynos 4412 processor, which operates at a frequency of 1.4 GHz. Video accelerator - Mali 400 MP. RAM 1 GB, built-in 16 GB. There are competitors who provide more opportunities in this regard, but at the same time ask for less in price. If this memory is not enough for you, then you can choose 32 and 64 GB versions or expand it using cards.

Samsung Galaxy S3 GT i9300 runs Android 4.0.4. The gadget's interface is represented by a proprietary “touchwiz”. Square icons look great on an oval smartphone display. Locking and unlocking the device is accompanied by pleasant sounds.

Playing on this device is a real pleasure. Not a single game causes the i9300 to lag, unless, of course, you try to run super-heavy games, so you'll have to lower the settings.

The gadget is equipped with a small 2100 mAh battery by modern standards.

With Wi-Fi turned on and under full load, the phone works all day. A very good result for a smartphone of this class.

Curious features

The S3 i 9300 has a number of interesting features:

  • Smart Stay or intelligent waiting. Thanks to this function, the device controls whether the owner is looking at the display at that second. If not, it turns it off to save power.
  • SVoice is an analogue of Apple's Siri. Unfortunately, if you do not know English, then this function is not of particular value.
  • “Remember Everything” is an app specifically for those who don’t like text reminders. To use it, you just need to press the microphone and say, for example, “I want to call my mom back today in 15 minutes.” After this, you must click “Save”. You will not have to perform any further actions, neither set the date nor time. The gadget will do everything itself.
  • To take a screenshot, just swipe your palm across the screen. You can also configure your phone to recognize touches. Each movement has its own function.
  • A set of different vibration signals, where for each of them you can, for example, have your own contact number.
  • If the contact book is open and a certain person is selected, then you can simply bring the gadget to your ear, and C3 immediately starts calling him. True, for the very first time you need to select a communication option - via Skype or a regular call, so that the device remembers.
  • Voice dialing SMS.

Camera

U Samsung Galaxy S3 The i9300 has two standard cameras: a main one of 8 megapixels and a front one of 1.9 megapixels. Let's deal with both in order.

The main camera is simply excellent. With it you can get good panoramic photos. In the functionality you can find an interesting function, like a series of pictures. The device takes 8 photos, and then you can choose the best one in your opinion. Very convenient when shooting moving objects.

The main camera is equipped with a Sony module, which is similar in quality to the module for IPhone 4S. The decision is controversial, especially if we recall Samsung’s success in developing its own matrices.

The flash here is simple, LED. There is no separate button to launch the camera. It is activated by an icon from the desktop or lock screen. The shooting speed is 3.5 frames per second. Improved image processing algorithm. There is image stabilization. Focusing on a given point and face recognition are possible. The emphasis is on the convenience of the software component and its versatility.

The only thing I can say about the front camera is that it’s simple, but you can take a selfie.

The video camera shoots in 1080p resolution. While shooting, you can also take photos along the way. The quality of pictures and videos is decent.

Results

Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-i9300 is a stylish and laconic smartphone from an A-class company that is easy and convenient to operate. By purchasing it, the owner receives good quality, a good camera, excellent sound, both with and without headphones, and a variety of features that make life easier.

Video

You don't see anyone with smartphones these days. Until relatively recently, these gadgets were perceived by a large number of consumers as something new, supernatural and inaccessible to the average Russian, but today it is already very difficult to imagine your life without them. These are stylish and will help pass the time on a trip or in long lines, and the large number of different options makes them truly indispensable.

The South Korean company Samsung is one of the manufacturers of mobile equipment. Just a few years ago, mobile phones produced by a corporation from South Korea were not of good quality, quickly broke down and were extremely unreliable. Over the course of several years, the South Korean manufacturer managed to make a significant leap in its development, increase production volumes and significantly improve the quality of its products. All this allowed Samsung to become one of the leading smartphone manufacturers for the first time in many years.

One of the brand's most popular smartphone lines has allowed the company to take a leading position in the global mobile industry. One of the most successful South Korean-made gadgets, the Samsung Galaxy-S3, the reviews of which are mostly positive, will be discussed in this article.

Device delivery set

In most cases, reviews about the delivery package are positive. According to the owners of this stylish device, along with the smartphone the user receives almost everything they need to work with it. The delivery set includes the following items:

  • the phone itself;
  • charger for it;
  • user guide;
  • USB cable;
  • wired headphones;
  • lithium-ion battery.

Design

The appearance of the device is one of its significant drawbacks (according to the owners of the gadget). The smartphone looks too simple; its design is almost copied from previous models. However, several color options, a thin body that fits well in the hand and the relatively small dimensions of the device as a whole create a rather pleasant impression of the gadget.

This model is promoted under a rather interesting motto of the unity of nature and technology, so we can assume that the rounded shape of the device is somewhat similar to a stone on the sea coast. The impression is also enhanced by the pattern covering the back of the device. The smartphone body is available in white, blue and black colors. All three versions look quite good and it is really difficult to choose a clear favorite among them.

Dimensions

As for the dimensions of the flagship smartphone of 2012, it must be said that they are relatively small - 13.66 by 7.06 by 0.88 centimeters with a device weight of 133 grams. As you can see, the device turned out to be quite thin, and the small weight of the Samsung Galaxy-S3 is also pleasing. The device fits quite well in the hand, easily fits into a trouser pocket, does not interfere with walking and does not take up too much space.

Assembly and controls

There are absolutely no complaints about the assembly of the smartphone. Owner reviews about the Samsung Galaxy-S3 are good. According to them, the plastic case is very well and tightly assembled. The only thing I can complain about is the removable panel, which is slightly squeezing in the camera area. It is difficult to remove the back cover, as it is very rigidly fixed and pressed close to the surface.

There is no play over the entire area of the device: neither at the back nor on the sides. The buttons are great too. And although the Samsung Galaxy-S3 smartphone, reviews of which are mostly positive, was rated “satisfactory” for its materials, it can safely be given “excellent” for its build quality.

The layout of the smartphone controls is typical for most products of the South Korean company Samsung. On the top panel of the device, the user will find a standard 3.5 mm jack, which is designed specifically for connecting headphones, a microUSB port, and a microphone. On the left side there is a volume rocker, while on the right there is a display lock button. I must say that they are very comfortable. It's a shame that the phone doesn't have a dedicated button specifically for taking photos. She obviously wouldn't be in the way here.

Under the device’s display there is a single key, complemented by two touch zones “Functions” and “Back”. A similar innovation can be observed in the Samsung Galaxy-S3 mini smartphone, reviews of which are even better than those of the model described in this article. These two zones have backlights, which, if desired, can be turned off completely or the duration of their operation can be set.

Above the screen of this model, the consumer will be able to find a silver overlay for the speaker and lighting, as well as the front camera. Many users of such a wonderful device are also pleased that a light indicator has finally appeared here. It must be said that the diode shines brightly, can notify about missed calls, new messages, and also flashes when charging.

The back surface of the smartphone is smooth and even, like pebbles smoothed by water. The main camera, which is edged with a silver frame, protrudes slightly at the top. There is a small gap between it and the body, where dust constantly gets in. However, everything is relatively easy to clean, so only the most picky users of the gadget will be able to identify this drawback. Also on the back panel there is a speaker hole and, of course, an LED flash, which is located directly next to the main camera.

Display

We are all gradually starting to get used to the extra-large display diagonals of mobile devices running the Android platform. The Samsung Galaxy-S3 was no exception. And although its screen diagonal is not 6, but “only” 4.8 inches, it clearly cannot be called small. Nevertheless, such a display, if we take into account the reviews of the Samsung Galaxy-S3 from owners, was liked by many buyers.

The device screen is made using HD Super AMOLED technology, has a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels, and also supports up to 10 clicks simultaneously. This version of the smartphone from the South Korean manufacturer Samsung is not without PenTile, which noticeably affects the clarity of fonts. Most likely, only particularly eagle-eyed users will notice this, while other consumers will leave this fact without any attention, since it is not noticeable at all.

With a pixel density of 306 pixels per inch, there is no need to complain about low image quality. Defects in the display are visible only at close range, when the smartphone is located at a distance of 10 cm from the eyes. The picture turns out bright, but automatic adjustment does not work very well here. On the street, the screen brightness is practically not lost, although in this aspect the smartphone is slightly inferior to its counterparts in the Sony Xperia P.

Main and front cameras

Nowadays, one of the main criteria for competition between modern gadgets is the quality of the camera. The best devices shoot at approximately the same level. Most users like to store captured footage in their smartphones, so it is very rare that photos go beyond the internal memory or memory card of the device. The capabilities of most modern phone cameras are so great that they allow you to immediately upload the photos you take to social networks, not to mention the highest quality video recording.

The Samsung smartphone is equipped with a main camera whose resolution reaches 8 megapixels. The module also has an LED flash and, of course, automatic image focusing. The smartphone has a quick shooting function, when the device takes a photo immediately after the shutter key is touched. This function, unfortunately, does not always work correctly, so sometimes the pictures turn out blurry. The maximum resolution of photographs is 3264 by 2448 pixels. The main camera can also record video in FullHD resolution - 1920 by 1080 pixels.

Also, the S3, reviews of which will give you additional insight into this device, is equipped with a front camera with a resolution of 1.9 megapixels and is designed for making video calls.

Samsung Galaxy-S3: smartphone characteristics

The device is powered by a quad-core Exynos-4412 processor, a proprietary design of Samsung. The frequency of this processor reaches 1.4 GHz. The graphics adapter here is Mali-400MP. As for RAM, its volume is 1 GB, while there is plenty of internal memory - 16, 32 or 64 GB, depending on the configuration of the device. Moreover, if necessary, the user can use a capacity that should not exceed 32 GB.

operating system

The Samsung device operates under the Android 4.0.4 platform, which is complemented by a proprietary shell called TouchWiz. The smartphone works quite quickly, and using it is pure pleasure.

Communications

Among the communications in the device from the South Korean company Samsung, it is worth highlighting the presence of the fourth version of Bluetooth, USB connectors, as well as a Wi-Fi module, which is designed specifically for wireless Internet access. It is also worth highlighting NFC and S Beam technology.

Battery and runtime

The Samsung smartphone has a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 2100 mAh. The advantages of this battery include the fact that it is replaceable and, if desired, consumers can purchase a spare battery if there are concerns that one will not be very convenient.

If you go into the settings of the Samsung Galaxy-S3, you can enable the energy-saving mode, which will significantly extend the battery life of the smartphone. You can force the processor to operate at a lower frequency, reduce the brightness of the display, or use a different background.

The manufacturer claims that the device's battery life is 9.5 hours during talk time, as well as 290 hours in standby mode. In normal mode, with not too frequent use, the phone can work throughout the day. In this case, it all depends on the load on the device.

Conclusion

To summarize, I would like to say that you can read more positive reviews about the Samsung Galaxy-S3 than negative ones. We are also pleased with the earpiece, which transmits the voice clearly and clearly. As for the ringer volume, it is above average, and the vibration is average in strength. If the case materials were a little better quality, and the design wasn’t so primitive, we could safely say that Samsung had created the perfect smartphone.

In any case, a product from a renowned South Korean manufacturer is unlikely to disappoint consumers. The device turned out to be of really high quality, and you can purchase it at a price of approximately 15 thousand rubles. Of course, the cost is slightly overpriced, but for this money the consumer will receive a truly high-quality and reliable device that will delight him with its work for a long time.

Specific Absorption Rate (SAR)

The SAR level refers to the amount of electromagnetic radiation absorbed by the human body while using a mobile device.

Head SAR level (EU)

The SAR level indicates the maximum amount of electromagnetic radiation that the human body is exposed to when holding a mobile device close to the ear in a conversation position. In Europe, the maximum permissible SAR value for mobile devices is limited to 2 W/kg per 10 grams of human tissue. This standard has been established by CENELEC in accordance with IEC standards, subject to the guidelines of ICNIRP 1998.

0.342 W/kg (Watt per kilogram)
Body SAR level (EU)

The SAR level indicates the maximum amount of electromagnetic radiation to which the human body is exposed when holding a mobile device at hip level. The maximum permissible SAR value for mobile devices in Europe is 2 W/kg per 10 grams of human tissue. This standard has been established by the CENELEC Committee in compliance with the ICNIRP 1998 guidelines and IEC standards.

0.547 W/kg (Watt per kilogram)
Head SAR level (US)

The SAR level indicates the maximum amount of electromagnetic radiation that the human body is exposed to when holding a mobile device near the ear. The maximum value used in the USA is 1.6 W/kg per 1 gram of human tissue. Mobile devices in the US are regulated by the CTIA, and the FCC conducts tests and sets their SAR values.

0.628 W/kg (Watt per kilogram)
Body SAR level (US)

The SAR level indicates the maximum amount of electromagnetic radiation to which the human body is exposed when holding a mobile device at hip level. The highest permissible SAR value in the USA is 1.6 W/kg per 1 gram of human tissue. This value is set by the FCC, and the CTIA monitors mobile devices' compliance with this standard.

    The screen is large and does not fade in the sun. Viewing angles are good. Rich colors. The performance is satisfactory. It runs all the necessary programs. I didn’t plan to install toys from the very beginning. Wifi reception is excellent. Fast. Supports 2 SIM cards. Conveniently arranged. Supports SD cards up to 64 GB. I installed 16 GB, which is enough for my eyes. 8 MP camera + LED flash. Takes good pictures and videos. Slim body. Removable battery.

    The advantages are the same as Grand Prime. Satisfied with the Grand Prime for myself, I bought this phone for my wife. I was afraid of a problem with the volume, but it turned out there was no such hardware problem.

    Quiet speaker
    -applications crashed a couple of times and were a little slow

    I immediately didn’t like the fact that this model produces a smeared screenshot, unlike the Samsung galaxy s3, the sound also leaves a desire to be better, I bought this phone in June, it seemed to work fine, but now the hands-free mode and GPS began to turn on automatically, after turning on the speakerphone it immediately pops up disclaimer and requires confirmation, which I am not doing yet, because I don’t know what and why all this is needed. I will contact the service.....

    1. It gets warm.
    2. For many, it’s buggy in some places - if everything works fine, then updating it is a risk. I am lucky in this regard; my friends are not.
    3. Internet from one SIM card is not a problem, but recording calls only from the first SIM card is unpleasant.

    Sound (volume). It rings very quietly. No camera. More or less outside during the day. Indoors, under artificial lighting, photos are blurry and have a lot of grain.

    Slippery. I immediately bought a case for it. It’s easier to cling to with your fingers. :)

    But there is a software problem with the call volume. Associated with periodic freezing of the Android component responsible for playing mp3. The second problem with increasing sound during calls, characteristic of Samsung, is more pronounced here than on other Samsungs. But this cannot be fixed in the settings. This can be solved either by rooting and changing the volumes in the /etc/default_gain.conf file (this loses the ability to update over the air), or by installing the Disable Increasing Ring program from Google Play (but it does not save the player component from periodically freezing).

    Terrible sound. In any mode, the speaker rattles and reducing the volume does not cure the problem. The battery is still working for the second day, I think it will definitely be enough for 2 days, I just bought it, I often mess with the settings, turn on wifi, but still the battery is rather weak.

This time, the new flagship came to us quite quickly - a little more than two weeks after the announcement in London. And we wanted to see it this time more than in the previous two years - Samsung did too well to create a buzz, stir up desire and make the Samsung Galaxy S 3 the most anticipated Android smartphone in the world.

Body and appearance

Using this smartphone, I completely changed my outlook on design, ergonomics, quality of materials and the materials themselves. During the presentation, I was slightly perplexed, why plastic again, and also glossy? In fact, when you pick up a smartphone for the first time, you understand that everything is as it should be. Why is the body collapsible? Everything is simple - this is how it should be if you know how to make a smartphone strong and durable. The Samsung Galaxy S 3 is exactly like that, I couldn’t achieve any crunch even with great effort. Even the HTC One X had a little movement on the back, if you press it, everything is gorgeous. The collapsible design has a number of advantages, for example, you can always install a larger capacity battery or buy a spare one if you go camping; also, if the cover is scratched, it can always be replaced. Here the situation is even better than a year ago in , where the cover did not cover the entire back part, which means that if the smartphone flops its back on the asphalt, its non-replaceable part will also be scratched. Of course, a year ago I called this design an improvement, since in the original Galaxy S the cover covered the entire back and had a habit of squeaking as a result. But the Troika managed to make the fastenings reliable; I can’t imagine how something could creak even in a year.

Why plastic? Again, I quickly found a reasonable explanation for myself. If the case were made of aluminum, it most likely would not be dismountable; moreover, if it falls hard on asphalt, the metal deteriorates more, and the marks then do not polish on their own. If the case were glass, I don’t even want to imagine what would happen if the smartphone fell even on a flat tile.

Why is the plastic glossy? Again, I’ll quickly... Although no, this remains a question. There is no feeling of cheapness, contrary to expectations, it looks quite beautiful, but it seems to me that such material as in the Nokia 808 PureView would be more practical. There, too, the design is collapsible and the plastic looks better.

But keep in mind that you cannot say that the smartphone is made of glossy plastic, only the cover. If you want, you can change it for something else, I’m sure the Chinese will rivet it.

So, we’ve sorted out the materials and design, what about the design as a whole? The shape of the smartphone practically follows the body and I like it. At least it's not an iPhone, as was the case with the first generation Galaxy S, but it's not a faceless square piece of plastic, like last year's flagship. It can be seen that they worked on the design, the smartphone looks nice in the hands and, moreover, lies comfortably in the hand.

The SGS3 will be available in two color options - white and blue. Again, the absence of black is like some kind of broken stereotype, because any phone is first produced in black! I didn't have the blue one, but I daresay it's just as beautiful as the white one.

I can't call the SGS3 a shovel, it can even be used with one hand, although I almost dropped it a few times. The smartphone is noticeably larger than the iPhone and just as noticeably smaller. Carrying a smartphone in the front pocket of your jeans does not cause the slightest inconvenience, nor does using the phone every day. But this is a matter of taste and palm size; for many, the smartphone may seem too big.

Place everything on the sides of the device

No elements were added. Probably the only thing I would like to see more is the camera key. Although not always, but very often it is more convenient to take photographs with its help. I'll start with the main thing - the display. In the Galaxy S 3, it has a 4.8″ diagonal, is made using Super AMOLED technology and the pixels are arranged using a PenTile scheme. By the way, this is the first question about a smartphone; for me it’s even more relevant than gloss. Yes, many will say that with this resolution, namely 1280x720 pixels, grain is not visible, but this is not so. Yes, when viewing photos, videos, scrolling through desktops, there are no questions. But when reading the text, the ribbing of the letters is noticeable and a pity. After the world community expressed its “fe” about this, Samsung responded, allegedly using PenTile due to the longer service life of the display. But considering that we are talking about periods that are not comparable to the duration of use of one smartphone, it becomes obvious that the manufacturer is saving money on displays with the “Plus” annotation.

Otherwise, everything is fine with the screen, and if you are already familiar with AMOLED technology and like it, the display in the Galaxy S 3 will not disappoint. It is quite bright to maintain readability in the sun, but this can no longer be called a trump card, since, in the same LG Optimus L7, the screen is not Super AMOLED, but its maximum brightness can be even higher. As before, I don’t like the minimum backlight brightness level being too high; in the dark I have to squint to use the smartphone.

It’s incredibly pleasing to have an LED indicator, which, moreover, can be customized.

It is located above the display, to the left of the earpiece. When there is nothing to notify, you will not even know about the existence of the notifier! To the right of the speaker are light and proximity sensors, as well as a 1.9 MP camera. By the way, it can record video in 720p, and the pictures are also good.

Below the display we see a standard Samsung set of buttons: a mechanical home key and two touch ones on either side of it. I'm glad that they retained the purpose of the touch keys, but they could have made a multitasking key, like everyone else does. Honestly, I don't see the point. It seems to me that it is much more convenient to hang the control of open applications on the central key, which you will need to hold down for a second. That's how it's done here!

Yes, in the case of control keys, beauty took precedence over convenience. If the location of the buttons almost at the bottom cannot even be called beautiful, then the shape of the hardware key is nicer than in SGS2 or SGNote, but it is too narrow, you will have to get used to using it.

Unlike, the jack for connecting headphones and a headset is located on the top of the smartphone. We immediately see the second microphone. At the bottom there is a conversational microphone and a MicroUSB connector.

On the left is the lock and power key, on the right is a paired volume button.

Removing the cover you will see slots for MicroSD and MicroSIM cards, as well as a battery with a capacity of 2100 mAh. The autonomy is enough for a day, but with more or less moderate use. I think, as in the case of the Galaxy S 2, in a month or two a software update will arrive and autonomy will increase.

Camera

One of the main features of the first two generations of Galaxies was the camera - one of the best of its time. Galaxy S 3 is no exception; it has a camera with an 8 MP sensor, video is recorded up to 1080p. So far, nothing surprising, but the quality has become a little better than in the Galaxy Note, the difference with the SGS2 is more noticeable. The video is recorded with excellent sound; before the SGS3, this title belonged to the HTC Sensation XL (from Android smartphones). The fact is that if you try to record a video at a concert, with almost any smartphone you will get a video track and a noise track instead of sound. In the Galaxy S 3, even drums played a meter away from the device were recorded perfectly.

It is possible to take continuous shooting at a frequency of 3.5 frames per second, then the smartphone itself offers the best photos from the series. You can, of course, save all the photos.

You can see examples of photographs in , or in full size.

Software

This time Samsung did everything as correctly as possible - they didn’t bulge the cores, megahertz and everything else, but made a fairly powerful smartphone with an emphasis on software. I keep repeating that hardware is just a tool, you can’t take anything from them other than a guarantee that the software will work well. If all the software I need runs on a certain piece of hardware, you don’t even have to say how many cores there are and whose they are. Android smartphones are starting to show really good interface smoothness and the Galaxy S 3 is another confirmation of this. Starting from small things: scrolling through desktops, contact lists or long menus, I did not notice a decrease in fps or twitching.

The smartphone has the latest version of Android 4.0.4, on top of which they put the proprietary TouchWiz shell, which here received the Nature UX prefix. The point is that locking, unlocking, the sound of keystrokes and much more are accompanied by sounds from nature. Cool, not cool - I don’t know. It’s not usual, but so be it.

The interface has become nicer than in previous versions of TouchWiz, but it is still far from HTC Sense in terms of beauty and convenience. But in terms of speed, it seems to me that TW has already surpassed its opponent. It’s good that many of the features from bare Android 4.0 have been followed, including the multitasking interface, a menu consisting of applications and widgets, and deleting elements using swipes in some menus. It’s a pity that you forgot about creating a folder by dragging one icon onto another.

But now I realize that I can no longer say: “Take off your shitty shell,” I’m starting to like it. Change the icons and you can rejoice! The fact is that Samsung didn’t just say: “Here’s a new version of TW with an unusual name and gurgling water, clap!” They brought a lot of unique things here, which were the main focus of the presentation. Eg, S Beam, because they were able to accomplish what I dreamed about and once talked about in a video blog, now you can transfer files via Wi-Fi, but connect devices to each other using NFC. Just hit your smartphones and don’t worry about anything. Or what is it worth to recognize faces in photographs, with the ability to add them to contacts and then call directly from the photo! Or Function Smart Stay, which prevents the screen from going dark while you are reading some text. There are many other innovations, for example, S Voice, which is essentially a competitor to Siri. But I even like the advanced S Memo note-taker and planner here.

Sam Siri

This woman, who is actually called S Voice, still has a lot to learn in life. She was sent to the people too early, I think. The voice assistant is called by double-clicking the center key, after which you can speak. In principle, the simplest questions asked at the right time will give you an answer, for example if you want to know the weather. After receiving the result, the woman goes to rest; you can wake her up by saying “Hi Galaxy”. But in practice, our woman is strong, and sometimes you can’t wake her up with requests alone.

There is also a character, for example, the dialogue below is reminiscent of the children's game “Buy an Elephant” (thanks to the reader on Twitter for the association).

Let me note that it wasn’t me who asked stupid questions, like “I would like to see,” I wanted to finish the sentence, but my aunt just interrupted mid-sentence and, without finishing listening, rambled. And there are also simple misunderstandings.

(The last screenshot was provided by our reader, obviously it was taken on a different smartphone, but still)

Performance

Perhaps many were waiting for even more powerful hardware, but what is installed in the Galaxy S 3 makes the smartphone the most powerful Android device on the market. This is facilitated by a quad-core Exynos 4212 processor with a frequency of 1.4 GHz and a Mali-400MP graphics accelerator. RAM 1 GB, although you could install two, there is never too much RAM. Built-in memory can be 16, 32 or 64 GB, but remember, there is also a slot for a memory card!

Thanks to its great performance, you can even open Full HD video in a separate window while performing other actions. This window can be moved around the screen without even thinking about the interface!

Conclusion

We received another star among all smartphones overall. Not a revolution, but a really cool device that you want to use and, most importantly, is convenient to use. But, if last year there were simply no alternatives to the Galaxy S 2, until the Galaxy Note and then the Galaxy Nexus came out, now you can safely look at at least three models from other manufacturers: , and , all of them are good in their own way. I can’t even pick out a strong favorite among them, so I recommend that if you are going to buy such a smartphone, look at all these new products. But the competent promotion that I talked about at the very beginning has done its job - Samsung Galaxy S 3 is already the most anticipated smartphone. To date, about 10 million devices have already been ordered by operators and it is very possible that sales of SGS3 in the first few days will set a new record in the market. After talking with the company’s new flagship for just under a week, I can confidently recommend the new product to you!
