On January 7, two days before the start of CES 2019, Sony will host its own event. It is expected that as part of it, it will present new smartphones 3, Xperia XA3 Plus and Xperia XA3 Ultra, the previous models of which were presented at last year’s exhibition. Externally, the smartphones are unlikely to differ from each other - they will all receive an updated design, but compared to devices from other manufacturers they will look outdated. This assumption can be made from information leaked onto the Internet, which Digital Trends carefully compiled into one post.

Oleg Dovbnya 01/07/2019

The further development of mobile and wearable devices is significantly hampered by the harshness of batteries. To arrange them, a very specific space must be allocated in the device body and this interferes with a more aesthetically pleasing and innovative design. Flexible batteries have been reported before, but they lacked power. The technical solution proposed by Jenax can find application in many categories modern devices, and not just in smartphones and smart watch. Moreover, it is very useful for the era.

Oleg Dovbnya 01/06/2019

Today it is almost definitely clear that new smartphones from CES 2019 will not be shown to the public. But this does not mean that the most famous brands of the past will not show themselves in any way at the upcoming consumer electronics exhibition, the announcements of which largely determine the entire new technological season. It is possible that it is in Las Vegas that the brand, which played one of the main roles in the history of the mobile industry, will again remind itself not only as a vendor inexpensive phones, but will also show impressive innovation.

What's on automakers' minds today? What plans do ", " and " companies make for the next five to eight years? At the CES-2017 exhibition, which started in Las Vegas (held from January 5 to January 8, 2017), companies will answer all these questions. International Consumer Electronics Exhibition or "Consumer Electronics Show" (abbreviated as CES) has long ceased to be just a meeting place for IT technology lovers and representatives of manufacturing companies household appliances. Now we need to look at this event literally more broadly, because world-famous automakers and equally well-known suppliers of electronics and peripheral parts for cars have paid attention to it. All of them show and predict how this or that segment will develop in the coming years and what can be expected from technology in the future.

It was no surprise to anyone that at the beginning of this year the Toyota company arrived with its smart concept car Concept-i, which, according to the assurances of the engineers who developed it, is capable of literally communicating with the driver of the future, adapting to the latter’s preferences, folding during operation There is a real friendly relationship with the driver. Well, why not a miracle?

The BMW company went even further by presenting at the exhibition its organizer made in the form of an ordinary window in a house. A screen on which the daily routine will be displayed, as well as routes and tasks for the current day will make the user’s life easier and more convenient. Smart system will be able to transmit information through cloud services to all devices connected in the car, including navigation system BMW cars. New Continental Head-Up displays were also demonstrated for the new model, as well as holographic information display technologies.

Registration IDs for cars, integration of car models into the Internet, creation of complex robotic systems based on cars, all this and much more is gradually becoming a reality these days. And all changes become known primarily through exhibitions like CES. Where are you alone? high tech intertwined with other equally important automotive technologies.

The list of automakers participating in the exhibition also speaks of genuine interest in a new direction of business development. " , "BMW", " , " , " , "Toyota", " and "VW", and with them at the same time such as "Continental", "Bosch", "Google", "Amazon", Microsoft" and also " ZF". You can see a detailed list of all the important new products for 2017 CES, friends, below.

Mercedes demonstrated its corporate CASE strategy at CES. Behind the mysterious four-letter abbreviation lies one of the main vectors of development of engineering from Stuttgart: Connected, Autonomous, Shared & Service and Electric Drive. In Russian it sounds something like the concept of connected to worldwide network autonomous electric cars, car sharing services and taxi cars.

The concept called “Fit&Healthy” is a mobile doctor’s office assembled on a base combined with a lounge area. The car is able to simultaneously monitor the health, entertain and relax its owner. Sensors on the steering wheel will measure the driver’s pulse and, if necessary, the seat massage will turn on, and the interior lighting will automatically adjust to the situation, surrounding the people inside with the maximum level of comfort.

Another model at the Mercedes stand, built on the basis of the C 63 model. A package of new technologies allows the car to learn and adapt to the driver’s habits, at the same time taking into account weather conditions, time of day and even day of the week. The goal of the concept is to create a car that is capable of independently going through the learning process for an individual driver in order to make his daily life easier.

The imminent arrival of autonomous cars on the roads of all countries is forcing Nissan to move in this trend direction, thereby developing new autonomous technologies. One of them is “Seamless Autonomous Mobility”, abbreviated as SAM. A self-learning system has been developed.

Next up is Ford. Mass production of self-driving cars is planned to begin by 2021. At CES, Ford presented its new version"Hybrid Autonomous Vehicle Development" models. The car has acquired new hardware components as well as more efficient software and sensors.

Ford and Sygic presented the result of their collaboration. The GPS navigation application from "Sygic" will be installed in all car models of the American manufacturer from 2018. The Sygic app will be the first app to work seamlessly with SYNC systems. Now GPS application from Slovakia are used by more than 150 million citizens in 200 countries. When a connection is established this application will broadcast maps from a smartphone to the screen of the car’s infotainment system.

The proprietary system developed by Hyundai-Blue Link will now be controlled using voice commands through devices that have been integrated into the Home smart home system. It is enough to give, for example, the command in the apartment: "Ok Google, tell Blue Link to start my Santa Fe and set the temperature to 23 degrees" and the machine will obediently execute this command.

TomTom develops very accurate maps, which are necessary for teaching cars to drive autonomously, because this requires knowing every millimeter of the path. The TomTom company has already entered into cooperation on the development of drones with Volkswagen, with PSA Group, with " and ".

Magna International and Innoviz Technologies continue to fruitfully collaborate in the field of creating autonomous driving systems and functions. The result of the collaboration is their lidar technology, sensors that allow the vehicle’s surroundings to be determined with the highest accuracy.

AR glasses HoloLens from Microsoft, a virtual reality rarely is it so realistic.

ZF, working in close cooperation with ", has shown its new development designed to improve the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and moped drivers, all thanks to the intelligent X2Safe algorithm. Thanks to the constant communication of smartphones with the cloud, with the Smartwatch and with the car, this proactive warning function will be able to predict a possible accident in advance.

Both drivers themselves and other road users will be notified of the danger. For example, a pedestrian begins to cross the road at a red light, and a motorist driving along the road will immediately receive a warning about the danger at the pedestrian crossing, and the violator himself will also be notified of an approaching car.

ZF and NVidia will present their joint artificial intelligence system ZF ProAI, which is designed for autonomous cars, trucks and industrial applications.

Optimization of fleet management, car sharing; all information will now be displayed on the map, from its location to unplanned downtime of cars.

Bosch has prepared the interior of the future for drivers and passengers. You can read more about it here: CES 2017, Futuristic car interior concept from Bosch.

Mobileye and Delphi Automotive also showed their technology for fully autonomous driving at CES. Both companies have combined most of the sensors and technologies known today using their software, V unified system. 2019 will be the debut year for their development.

"NeuV" is a miniature car concept from Honda. Unlike many other similar concepts presented at the 2017 CES, it is interesting precisely because it can directly earn money for the owner. Yes, yes, that’s right, we were not mistaken. The idea is quite simple and at the same time interesting. According to statistics, 96% of the time personal cars are idle. It was at this time, according to Honda, that their cars would be equipped new technology, will have to transport other people within global system car sharing. The money will go to the owner, and the random passenger will have the opportunity to get to their destination.

CES 2017 has already closed, but we will be discussing the new products of this exhibition for a long time. There is a suspicion that right up to the next CES. Well, or at least until February, when MWC 2017 opens in Barcelona. And in order for you (and you and me too) to have something to discuss, we tried to collect in one material all the new products from CES 2017. That is, everything. Naturally, nothing worked out for us, since thousands of gadgets were shown in Las Vegas, but we are not ashamed of our work. Because we really have collected a lot of different useful and interesting things, as well as useless ones, but still interesting.

TVs

Let's start with LG, which presented really thin TVs.

Signature 4K OLED W-Series TVs (65 and 77 inches) are no more than 2.57 mm thick. This means that visually they practically do not protrude above the surface of the wall. Among other features, we note the ability to work with HDR content of almost all current standards and a separate unit with an audio system located outside the TV. This is not surprising: placing speakers, connectors and other hardware in such a thin model would be problematic.

LG Signature 4K OLED W-Series TV

For less wealthy guys, LG has a line of Super UHD LCD TVs in store, including the SJ9500, SJ8500 and SJ8000 models with LCD displays based on Nano Cell technology. HDR support is also promised, this is the television trend of 2017. It is known that the thickness of the 55-inch SJ9500 model at its thinnest point does not exceed 6.9 mm.

LG TVs of the Super UHD LCD TV family

LG also showed a prototype of a 55-inch transparent TV. Why this is needed - God knows. This model is probably suitable for the role of a movie prop, where they like to shoot various transparent things under the guise of future interior items. Although in the future, we would venture to guess, we will not use transparent TVs. How they stopped using transparent laptops, phones and players - all this was shown to us more than once, and some models were even mass-produced.

Family Sony Bravia OLED includes models with OLED screens and audio system, using the display surface to reproduce sound. Sony says that they were the first in the world to implement this, although LG at CES 2017 also demonstrated a TV (albeit a prototype) with such a feature. A total of three models were shown - 55, 65 and 77 inches, all supporting 4K resolution.

New 4K TV from the Sony Bravia OLED family

For less demanding buyers, Sony offers the Bravia XE94 and XE93 models with LCD screens and not so impressive design. They are known to work under Android control TV with possibility voice control. (By the way, Sony today is one of the few apologists for Android TV: LG TVs use webOS, and Samsung models- Tizen platform.)

At the same time, Google announced that Huawei is working on VR glasses compatible with Daydream.
