Viewing pictures Total Commander. Viewing images of Total Commander Connecting network drives in Total Commander

In the list of file managers Total Commander(hereinafter TC) is the most popular. And this is not surprising, because the program provides very convenient work with disks, folders and files and, in addition to providing standard features typical for this class of applications, it has many interesting features that simplify work. In particular, it remembers frequently used directories, supports bookmarking, provides quick search(including inside files), allows you to configure hotkeys, etc. In addition, the program provides support for popular archivers and has a built-in FTP client that allows you to download files in several streams, supports resume and can work on a schedule. And its capabilities can be expanded by plug-ins. This article will be devoted to acquaintance with the most interesting of them, but first we will briefly dwell on the types of plugins and the nuances of their installation.

What are plugins and how to install them

There are four types of plugins for TC: archiving plugins (with WCX extension), plugins file system(WFX), internal viewer plugins (WLX), and content plugins (WDX). Archiving plugins are used to work with archives that are not initially supported in the file manager or are supported with restrictions. In addition, archiving plugins provide support for working with a number of other file formats - CHM, MSI, ICL, DLL, etc. File system plugins are available in TC via network(Fig. 1) and provide access to disks, remote systems, internal Windows modules, media with other file systems. Internal viewer plugins allow you to view file formats not supported by Lister's internal viewer - images, tables, databases, etc. Content plugins are designed to access extended information about files - MP3 tags, information in EXIF headers in JPEG images, etc.

Rice. 1. TC window with Network Neighborhood open on the left panel

Today, there are already more than one hundred plugins for TC, and even just listing them within the framework of an article is impossible, and it doesn’t make much sense, since many plugins, if they don’t duplicate each other, then have a very close purpose. We will focus only on those solutions that may be of interest to a wide range of users.

The most popular and well-established plug-ins, along with their brief descriptions, are presented on the official website of the program (http://www.ghisler.com/addons.htm), as well as on the Russian-language site "All about Total Commander" (http://wincmd .ru/). The new plugins are available from the unofficial TC site (http://www.totalcmd.net/).

You can install plugins automatically and manually. Automatic installation does not cause difficulties: just open the downloaded archive with the plugin in the file manager and the program itself will offer to install the detected module (Fig. 2). True, such automatic installation not available for all plugins.

Rice. 2. TC window with a suggestion to install the plugin

Connecting additional modules manually is done in the settings window called by the command Configuration -> Setting, where in the section Plugins click on the button with the required plugin type and specify the location of the module to be installed. For archiving plugins additionally in the list Files with extension you will need to specify the extension of those files that should be associated with the installed plugin (Fig. 3). If there are several such extensions, then the operation of specifying the module with the plug-in is performed several times, each time entering a different extension.

Rice. 3. Installing the archiving plugin through the Settings window

Comfortable viewing

Built-in viewer file manager(Lister) allows you to view a rather limited list of file formats when you press the F3 key. The situation is easy to fix by installing the appropriate plugins.

After connecting the plugin IEView(http://wincmd.ru/plugring/ieview.html) it will be possible to view files in the most different formats. This plugin uses the same engine for viewing files as Internet Explorer, and is great for viewing hypertext documents (including documents in MHT and CHM formats). In addition, it allows you to view documents in other formats through the software installed on your computer - PDF documents (if Acrobat Reader is installed - Fig. 4), Word / Excel documents, PowerPoint presentations(if you have MS Office), etc. You can also set up viewing files in DjVu format by installing the Browser Plugin and uncommenting in the section file ieview.ini the corresponding line. Viewing AutoCAD documents is configured in a similar way (an appropriate viewer is required - for example, VoloView), etc.

Rice. 4. View PDF document with IEView

The IEView plugin can also be used to view files Shockwave Flash. However, it is more convenient to use specialized plugins for this purpose - for example SWF Lister 2.0(http://wincmd.ru/plugring/swf_lister.html ; fig. 5) because it has a playback scroll bar.

Rice. 5. View SWF file via SWF Lister

With this plugin, the file manager will become possible creation and unpacking archives in 7z format, as well as viewing their contents. To use the plug-in, for example, to pack files, you need to select them, press the key combination Alt + F5, select the 7z option in the list of archiver extensions in the window that opens and, if necessary, adjust the archiving settings by clicking on the button Setting(Fig. 9).

Rice. 9. Create a 7z archive using 7Zip Plugin

Working with CD/DVDs and Images

If you want to make working with CD/DVD discs more comfortable and reliable, then you should get a virtual CD drive by installing the plug-in virtual disk(http://wincmd.ru/plugring/virtdisk.html). It will be possible to mount CD/DVD images into such a drive much faster than inserting them into a real drive, and at the same time without any harm to the discs themselves, which often become unreadable due to active use. This plug-in allows you to emulate a virtual CD-ROM drive and connect images (in ISO format, as well as some BIN- and NRG-images) made from unprotected CDs into it. In addition, it can be used to emulate a local hard drive or floppy disk.

For the plugin to work, in addition to installing it in automatic mode, you need to install the driver virtual disk, by calling the command Install. And then restart your computer.

The principle of mounting images to the virtual drive created after installing the module is very simple: you should copy it in the file manager to the folder virtual disk(this folder will appear in network environment after installing the plug-in) the necessary file images, and then to mount one of them on a virtual drive, double-click on this image, select the mode CD/DVD and click on the button To plug(Fig. 10). You can also enable the checkbox Restore on reboot, which makes sense if you have to work with the mounted image on a regular basis. After that, the required virtual drive with the connected image will appear in the rollout of disks in TC and in the Windows Explorer window.

Rice. 10. Mounting the image to a VirtualDisk virtual drive

There is another option - install the plugin ISO(http://wincmd.ru/plugring/iso.html). With it, it will be possible to read images in ISO, BIN, IMG and NRG formats without mounting them into a virtual drive. This will allow, for example, to quickly view the files from the image (Fig. 11) and copy all or part of them to HDD for further work.

Rice. 11. View the contents of the image through the ISO plugin

Data cataloging

Navigating among the folders and files stored on a variety of disks is not easy, because most users of CDs alone have dozens, or even hundreds, and even more pictures, documents, audio recordings. Therefore, without the use of some kind of cataloger, which would provide the ability to quickly find out where the desired disk or file, today is indispensable. If there is relatively little cataloged data, then it is quite possible to get by with the capabilities of specialized TC plugins.

Picture work is important. I often view pictures in this program. Of course peepers peepers work faster. They have one drawback, they load the RAM. It's good if you have 2 or 4 GB of RAM. Press keyboard shortcut ctrl+q you will see how the display of files in the window has changed. If there is a picture in the window, you will see it.

If you press sequence TAB, + (or -), you can zoom in or out on the pictures. You will not be able to fully view pictures in the CMIK system. Only files in the RGB system you can view fully.

Click on the picture window right click mice. You will see a menu. Select an item File-Save How. You can resave the file in a different format.

You can use the so-called viewer. It's easy to turn it on. The way is File-Tools-Sketches

Now you have the Imagine viewer. It makes it easy to view pictures. Very handy for viewing pictures.

If you go to the properties, you can choose the size of the thumbnail image.

If the miniatures seem large to you, then you can reduce the size by 50x50.

- this is perhaps one of the most successful programs that has been written for Windows. Practically without changing its appearance, it evolves along with the operating room. Windows system, remaining the number one system utility for many. In many ways, this is a great merit of those programmers who were able to see how promising the principle of a two-panel file manager interface can be. For more than ten years of development, the Ghisler product not only managed to change its name from Windows Commander to Total Commander, but also acquired a wide variety of functions: bookmarks appeared, support for rar archives was added, the manager began to work with Unicode and became much more convenient. But, as you know, there is no limit to perfection, and, mindful of this truth, the developers have shifted the “refinement” of the program onto the shoulders of the users themselves. With the help of additional modules, or simply put plug-ins, Total Commander can be turned into a multifunctional Swiss Army knife, which has tools for all occasions. Moreover, some plug-ins not only expand the potential of the program, but may even serve as a reason to abandon some programs that you previously had to use. It makes no sense to consider absolutely all additional modules for the file manager. First, there are a lot of them. Secondly, many of them have, if not completely the same purpose, then at least very close. Therefore, we will only talk about the most interesting, in our opinion, plugins. If you are interested in this topic, you can find hundreds of other add-ons on the program's website, on the unofficial site Totalcmd.net, as well as on the Russian site "All about Total Commander". Before proceeding with the list of plugins, it would not be superfluous to mention the process of installing them. All additional modules for Total Commander are divided into several groups:

  • Archiving plugins are additional modules that expand the program's capabilities for working with archives. Such plugins have the WCX extension;
  • Filesystem plugins - These add-ons to Total Commander allow you to access disks or other digital media with a file system that is not supported by Windows. These plugins look like WFX files;
  • Internal Viewer plugins are designed to expand the list of formats supported by the internal Lister viewer, called by the F3 or Ctrl+Q command. These files have the .wlx extension;
  • Information plugins - make it possible to view the information contained in the file. They have the .wdx extension.
Installing plugins in Total Commander has recently been automatic. It is enough to download the archive with the addition to the file manager and view its contents, as a window will appear on the screen in which the program will offer to install the detected plug-in.

If, for some reason, you need to connect an additional module manually, you need to open the program settings window (Configuration>Options) and go to the Plugins section. Next, use the button for the corresponding plug-in type to specify the location of the module you want to install on your hard drive. This plugin will be useful for those who are used to "keep abreast" of the system. With it, you can monitor the state of memory, processor load, manage running processes, and assign each of them a priority. In a separate window, graphic dependencies are drawn in real time, which display the statistics of the system.

AT operating systems ah XP and Vista, you can get information about open ports and installed on this moment connections. The number of functions that AceHelper offers is not available in every process manager. So, for example, AceHelper displays information about the files used by the process, registry keys, drivers, etc. If necessary, you can unload the process from random access memory. After installation, the plugin appears as an icon in the network environment. By default, Total Commander can view a very limited number of graphic formats. Of course, an additional multifunctional utility such as ACDSee is usually used for this purpose. However, the support of various graphic formats by the built-in viewer makes it possible in some cases to do without additional programs. By installing the Imagine module, Total Commander can view graphic files in the following formats: JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP, PCX, TGA, PSD, TIF, TIFF, LBM, IFF, FLI, FLC, SPR, PCD, JPC, JP2, J2K ( JPEG 2000), PBM, PGM, PPM, RAS, SGI, RGB, BW, JBG, JBIG, ICO, CUR, ANI, CLP, RLE.

Imagine shows detailed information about graphic file- resolution, color depth, number of frames (for example, for animated GIFs), EXIF data (for JPEG files). Animated gif files can be exported to an AVI video file. Some image parameters can be edited, for example, change the color depth, rotate, resize the picture. This module is very convenient to use for quick viewing with subsequent renaming of images. In order to listen to music on a computer, of course, it is convenient to use a special player. However, when you need to quickly view several media files, running a heavy utility every time is very inconvenient. With this module, you can listen and watch audio / video files of most popular formats today (asf, wmv, avi, mpeg, aiff, ogg and many others) directly on the Total Commander panel.

In addition to the fact that the file will be played, the window will display information contained in the ID3Tag V1 and ID3Tag V2 tags (codec type, bit rate, album information, etc.). The plugin is launched as a viewer by F3 or Ctrl+Q. Another type of program whose functions can be performed by a plug-in for Total Commander is a disk emulator. Of course, such a plugin cannot replace Alcohol120% or DaemonTools, because VirtualDisk has a minimum of settings and cannot emulate protected disks. However, this module has one advantage - it is easy to install and remove without causing any disruption to Windows. Its installation is slightly different from the usual installation of plugins. In addition to automatic installation when viewing the contents of an archive with the VirtualDisk module, you should separately install the virtual disk driver. To do this, right-click on the file, call context menu and select the Install item in it. After that, you will need to restart your computer, and VirtualDisk is ready to go.

After installing the plugin, a folder with the same name appears in the network environment. Copy image files to this folder before connecting. To connect one of the images in the list, just try to go into it, as in a regular directory. A window with settings will appear, where you can specify the letter that will be assigned to the connected image and emulation mode.

The program can emulate a disk in one of three modes. In HDD mode, images with the FAT or NTFS file system are emulated. In FDD mode, a drive is emulated, you cannot mount NTFS images. The last CD/DVD emulation mode is CD/DVD drive emulation. In HDD and FDD modes, an additional option is available - read-only. If enabled, mounted images cannot be modified while the virtual disk is being accessed. This module will turn your file manager into an email client that works with POP3/SMTP protocols. After configuring MAIL_WFX, the mailbox is displayed as a regular folder, accessed through Network Neighborhood and the Mail icon.

If you go to such a folder, you can see the headers of the letters in mailbox. It is the headers, and not the emails themselves - this is done so that traffic is not wasted on spam. The list of titles is updated only after entering the mailbox.

All emails that MAIL_WFX works with are in eml format. If the Outlook mail client is already installed in the system, The Bat! or another, then the letter will open in the program with which it is associated given type file. By default, Total Commander automatically sets a set of columns for sorting messages, however, in the settings you can set many more different columns - the flag for reading the letter, the priority of the message, the sender's organization, and others. MAIL_WFX has some limitations, for example, it does not work with proxies, and the browser does not process message encoding, which may cause some messages to be displayed incorrectly. This add-on is in beta and therefore does not always work properly. However, the author is actively working on MAIL_WFX, intending to provide the mailer with a lot of additional functions in the future. With each new version Total Commander adds new features to the program that relate to the support of archives different types. Total Commander supports many popular compression formats, but not 7-Zip. This type of compression is becoming more and more popular every day, because in terms of the degree of data compression, it often shows results that are even better than those of Winrar. The lack of support for the 7-Zip format is also inconvenient because, unlike the usual Zip or Rar archives, it cannot search for files. The 7Zip Plugin solves all these problems. With it, you can create archives in 7Z format, view their contents, and also unpack.

If you think you know everything Total Commander that you use every day is capable of, you are wrong. The number of additions to this program is huge and growing day by day. And who knows, maybe after many, many versions, instead of the usual file manager, an entire operating system will be released, which will include all the additional modules for the program.

To enrich the functionality of the Total Commander file manager, there are many different add-ons, that is, plugins. We will talk about the most popular of them in this post.

Cloud plugin for Total Commander

Cloud Plugin

The Cloud plugin allows Total Commander to connect to various cloud services. The package includes Dropbox, Box, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive), Microsoft Azure Data Lake Store, and Yandex.Disk.

The add-on can be found in the "File system extensions" category.

Plugin Back2Life restores deleted files, and also supports FAT and NTFS partitions. In addition, the plugin shows the degree of destruction of files.

Back2Life can be found under Filesystem Extensions on the Total Commander plugins page.

Registry plugin for Total Commander

Registry Plugin

The add-on can be found under the "File System Extensions" category on the Total Commander plugins page.

Viewing Images with the Imagine Plugin

Imagine is an image and animation viewer. It supports various image formats such as PNG, JPG, GIF, BMP, PCX, TGA, TIFF, ICO, CUR, LBM, ANI, FLI, WMF, EMF and many more. It also supports various archive formats: ZIP, RAR, 7Z, ALZ, HV3, CBZ, CBR, CB7, ARJ, LZH, EGG, TAR, ISO, CAB.

Moreover, this plugin can extract all images from animation files or only some of them. It also handles the following image manipulation functions: resize, mirror, rotate, grayscale, and filter.

The plugin can be found under the Viewer/Lister category on the Total Commander plugins page.

7zip archiver plugin

7zip plugin

The 7zip plugin allows you to unpack and pack archives. It is especially important that the software 7zip is not required.
The add-on can be found under the Archivers/Packers category on the Total Commander plugins page.

ISO plugin for image files from CD

With the ISO module, CD image files can be integrated. It supports BIN/CUE, IMG, NRG images and large DVDs in ISO format.
You can download the plugin from the plugin page. It can be found under the "Package Extenders" category.

Media Plugin

With Mmedia, you can play various multimedia files, and Windows Media Player is used as the default player.
In addition to various multimedia files, it can also play CD CDA files, view and play M3U lists. In addition, the plugin displays information about the MP3 frame, ID3V1 and V2 tags.

You can download the plugin from the Total Commander website in the Lister section of the Total Commander plugins page.

Total Commander is basically the equivalent of Windows Explorer, but much more efficient and easier to manage. For many users, this file manager has long been a vital tool with which to start working on a PC. The popularity of Total Commander is also largely determined by its weak degree of payment protection. This file manager is distributed under a Shareware license, that is, its free use is implied for a month. But in fact, even after free month use of Total Commander is not blocked.

It is enough to press one of the three numbers (1, 2 or 3) and after the countdown of seconds the manager will start. There will be no restrictions on the functionality of the program.
Download Total Commander current version can be found on the official website. At the time of this writing, the infinite trial version of Total Commander 8.51a is relevant, both 32-bit and 64-bit.
I want to draw your attention to the fact that during the installation of Total Commander you can select the folder where the configuration files are located, for which you need to click on the "Set path to INI files" button. Now you can easily transfer your settings of Total Commander to another computer by simply copying the INI files.

To store INI files, I chose the program directory (useful when the program is used from different operating systems). If you use several versions of Total Commander on your computer, then it is better to store INI files in the Windows directory.

The user interface of Total Commander is made in a classic two-pane form, which is very convenient when performing a variety of manipulations with files and folders.

Setting up Total Commander

Let's go through the settings of Total Commander, for this you need to select "Configuration" - "Settings" from the top menu. window view - here are concentrated some of the most important settings that determine the appearance of the file manager window.

In order to add or remove certain components of the main window, it is enough to uncheck or check the checkbox, after clicking the "Apply" button, you can see the changes made with your own eyes. If you are tired of everything - click "OK".
On the tab "Panel content" it is possible to customize the work with files and folders on the manager panels.

Settings items: Icons, Fonts, and Colors set to your liking.
In the tab "Tabulators" set up tab stops (size, file type, date), and also set a template for displaying file sizes. For me personally, it is more convenient when the size of files (folders) is shown not in bytes, but in Mb, Gb or Kb.

Agree that it is not very convenient to often open a folder that is located somewhere deep in the directory.
Frequently used tabs can be pinned to the file pane as follows. Open the desired folder and right-click on it. From the context menu, select an option or "Rename/Lock Tab" . You can also use hotkeys: Ctrl+T - create a tab, Ctrl+W - delete a tab.

If there are many blocked tabs, then they can be evenly distributed across both manager panels simply by dragging them with the mouse. Don't forget to save your changes from the top menu "Configuration" - "Save position" and "Save settings" . Now you have the desired tabs that will not disappear until you change the settings. During a long work with the program, it may happen that you have many tabs open. In order to close them on any of the tabs, right-click and select the menu item "Close all tabs" or press the hotkey combination "Ctrl+Shift+W". This will close all unlocked and inactive tabs on the file manager panel that you have selected.
The next important setting item "Basic Operations" .

We connect the editor Notepad ++ by default to Total Commander (Total Commander)

Best Editor text files, in my opinion, is Notepad++ . How to make it the default editor in Total Commander? On the next settings tab "Edit/View" you can connect external programs for viewing and editing files in Total Commander by pressing the F3 (view) or F4 (edit) button.
Choose Editor program- a window will open for choosing the path where you need to find Notepad ++ on your computer.

Setting up hotkeys in

It is worth noting that Total Commander by default has a huge number of keyboard shortcuts to work with. The list of hotkeys can be viewed by clicking on the "Help" button in the upper right corner of Total Commander. It is noteworthy that in the settings item "Miscellaneous" you can redefine hotkeys in the manager as you wish. Set, for example, show and hide system files keyboard shortcut Ctrl+H - cm_SwitchHidSys.

So, I recommend assigning the following hotkey combinations:
"Ctrl+W" - cm_CopyNamesToClip- copy file names to clipboard. You can copy one or more file names at once.
"Alt+W" - cm_CopyFullNamesToClip- copy to the clipboard file names with their location paths. Significantly saves time!
"Shift+Home" - cm_OpenDesktop- open the "Desktop" tab in the Total Commander window. It is often convenient to start work from the desktop, and from here you can go to the Control Panel, etc.
"Shift+BackSpace" - cm_GoToRoot- go to the root directory of the disk from anywhere. Also a very useful thing. Clicking "Ctrl+\" you also, by default, change to the root directory of the drive. Well, just a key "back space" By default in Total, it moves one level up.

On the official website of the Total Commander developer, you can find and download a great variety of plugins: http://www.ghisler.com/plugins.htm. If you do not want to bother with the translation of their description into Russian, then visit the Russian site http://wincmd.ru. The new plugins are also available from the unofficial TC site (http://www.totalcmd.net/).
If you open the tab "Plugins" in the settings of Total Commander, you will see that the plugins themselves are divided into four types: Archiving plugins (have the WCX extension), File system plugins (WFX), Internal viewer plugins (WLX) and Information plugins (WDX).

Archiving plugins allow you to work with archives that are not initially supported in the file manager or are supported with restrictions. With the help of archiving plugins, support for working with a number of other file formats is implemented - CHM, MSI, ICL, DLL, etc. File system plugins allow you to access disks that are inaccessible from Windows, remote systems, internal Windows modules, media with other file systems. Internal viewer plugins allow you to view files of various formats, incl. not supported by the internal Lister viewer, such as images, tables, databases, etc. Information plug-ins are designed to gain access to extended information about files (MP3 tags, image attributes, etc.)
Plugins can be installed in two ways: automatically and manually. Automatic installation does not cause difficulties: just open the downloaded archive with the plugin in the Total Commander panel and the manager itself will offer to install the detected module. True, automatic installation is not provided for all plugins.

Connecting additional plugins manually is also not difficult. To install the plugin, extract the contents of the archive into a separate folder. It is best to create a subdirectory in the directory with the Total Commander manager Plugins where already and create separate folders for each plugin separately. In the future, such a policy will allow you to avoid confusion in the folders of Total Commander.
Now you need to open the settings of Total Commander Configuration - Setting , where in the section Plugins button should be clicked "Setting" with the desired plugin type. In the dropdown box, click "Add" and select a file with the extension .wfx (wdx, wcx or wlx) - the actual file of the plugin to be installed from the folder we created. Everybody! The plugin is installed.

In order to see which plugins of each type are installed in your Total Commander build, click the button "Tune" in the relevant area. I highlighted the archiving plugins in my build manager.

Thanks to installed plugins you can view any folders and files on the adjacent panel of Total Commander using a combination of hot keys "Ctrl+Q". If you navigate through the files in one pane, then their contents will be displayed in the adjacent viewing pane.

There are many software tools for managing Windows OS parameters - these are plug-ins built into the system, and various tweakers, and system utilities. There are quite a few plugins developed for Total Commander that solve the same problem. The use of TS file system plug-ins provides the ability to keep abreast of your computer's OS from the familiar and very convenient interface of the TS file manager and perform many operations much faster than using the tools built into Windows.

Filesystem plugins are available in Total Commander via network

Very convenient to use plugin Uninstaller 64 , which is designed to quickly uninstall applications that are in the list "The installing and deleting of programms" panels Windows controls. The plugin allows you to view all entries, including hidden ones, and works much faster than the uninstaller built into Windows. To uninstall the application with this plugin, you need to select the line with the name of the program and press the Enter key. The plugin is also used to remove broken links (Del or F8 buttons) and view the uninstall command (F3 or Ctrl+Q).

Thanks to the plugin ProcFS Task Manager you can view running processes on your PC, including those that can hide from the standard manager Windows tasks. The panel shows the name of the process, its type, the amount of memory used by the process, and the time it started. The plugin allows you to view the properties of running processes and the libraries they use (F3), change priorities for processes (double-click on the process) and unload them (Del).

Plugin Services2 is a handy tool for working with Windows services. This plugin allows you to view a list of services, and by appearance icons you can immediately understand whether the service is running or stopped. The plugin allows you to quickly change the startup mode of a particular service (manual, automatic, disabled), you can pause the service, delete or start the service. All of the above operations are performed in the service properties window, which is opened by double-clicking on the service line or by pressing the Enter key.

Quick tabs and files in Total Commander

Open the folder in Total Commander that you want to save and have quick access to, and press the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl+D" or click on the star in the upper right corner of the panel. AT Google Chrome this keyboard shortcut adds to bookmarks, and in Total Commander - to the quick access menu. From the context menu, select "Add current directory" .

You can choose any of the proposed types of submenu. By clicking again on the asterisk or keyboard shortcut "Ctrl+D" you can view a list of your directories that you have quick access to. This menu is also called with the help of the mouse - by double clicking on the name of the current directory.

Total Commander control panel

Adding shortcuts to programs, internal commands, and any system command to the Total Commander toolbar is quite easy. It is necessary either to pull the exe file of the program to the panel itself or to register the path to the program manually.
First option. Go to the "Program Files" folder and drag the exe file of the program to the Total Commander panel with the mouse.

Second option. Right-click on an empty area of the toolbar and then "Edit". In the window that opens, click "Add" and add the program by specifying the full path to it exe file. I prefer to use the first option.

If, after pressing the "Add" button, click the small button with a magnifying glass, then you will see a grandiose list of commands provided in Total Commander.

At the bottom of the box in the box "Filter" , specify, for example, the command number 2400 (bulk rename) and click OK. An additional icon will appear in the toolbar, by clicking on which you can rename a whole list of files at once.

The Total toolbar is also interesting in that other files and folders can interact with the programs pinned here. Drag and drop, for example, the folder containing the mp3 files onto the AIMP3 player icon in the toolbar. Your audio files will start playing one by one. Similarly, drag the CSS file onto the icon text editor Notepad++ and the program will immediately open it. Drag "n Drop (take and drop) from the file panels to the shortcuts of the folders we created earlier will cause the files to be copied to these folders!
If your Total Commander is in autoload, then thanks to the installed program launch icons directly from the vehicle manager toolbar, you will not need to install extra shortcuts on your desktop. If necessary, unnecessary icons can be easily removed from the toolbar in the same way as they are installed: having selected an unnecessary icon, click on the "Delete" button and the icon will disappear.
Function keys are located at the bottom of the manager

These buttons also support Drag & Drop, so it is most convenient to use them without pressing the F3, F4, F5 buttons themselves, but by dragging the selected files and folders onto these buttons. Believe me, it's more convenient. And if you right-click on the F8 button, a context menu will open where you can empty the trash or view its properties.

The FTP client integrated into Total Commander allows you to connect to your site (blog) without any problems and provides the necessary information. To select a connection, just press the key combination CTRL + F, and if you have not configured a single connection yet, then in the window that opens, simply click on the "Add" button.

The FTP connection settings are not much different from the FileZilla FTP client settings, so you already know what to do next.

Connecting network drives in Total Commander

Turn on "Network" in the settings menu of Total Commander. Select function .
In the window that appears, select the drive and folder where you want to store information. You can specify the path to the site where images and documents will be stored.

Basic operations with folders/files in Total Commander

All actions with folders / files in the file manager are extremely simple, literally, by pressing one or two buttons.

File selection

Before performing operations on several objects at once, they must first be selected. This can be done by clicking on each object with the right mouse button or the left button, after holding and holding the Ctrl key.

Renaming files

Hover over the desired file/folder and double-click on the object (but not very fast!) with the left mouse button, the object will turn blue, and then set a new name.

Deleting files

Select the desired file / folder or select several at once. Then, press F8 - the delete key.
